Photo 1: A textbook homeless man sitting in the urban setting, with a cardboard sign and basic necessities. This reflects the normalization of the homelessness problem. People simply pass by the homeless as one of their daily nuisances rather than helping.
Photo 2: I choose this photo to reflect the moment where we were asked by a random homeless man for food. This moment shadowed the uncomfortableness many feel when confronted with the actual social justice issue rather than working for it.
Photo 5: This photo represents the assembly line process we took over to create sandwiches for the homeless; however, unlike the picture, this community did not have ample foods to send out to the homeless.
Photo 4: After we finished making bags of food, and exceeding our goal, Ozanam helped pack the vans with boxes of brown lunch bags. We also went with the drivers to various shelters for drop off as well.
Photo 6: This collection of positive sayings remind me of the positive messages on the ziploc bags in which we packed sandwiches. To send someone a good meal and an optimistic outlook warms their hearts. These are people who have lost jobs, their houses, and lives--- just a bit of positivity can go a long way
Photo 3: This photo represents how we all worked together to make food for the homeless. The teamwork showed us that working in greater numbers makes a greater difference.
